San Francisco Giants 

The Giants didn’t have a ton of luck against the Rays this week, losing two of three games. During a 6-1 loss on Wednesday, San Francisco got a lone RBI from LaMonte Wade. On Friday versus Atlanta, the Giants gave up three runs in the first two innings during a 4-0 loss. Wilmer Flores and Patrick Bailey each had one of the team’s two hits. 

Logan Webb will take the mound for the Giants on Saturday. In his 25 starts this year Webb is 9-9 with a 3.26 ERA and 157 Ks in 163.0 innings. Webb is 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA in his last seven starts, giving up 15 earned in 46.0 innings.

On Friday the Braves got four hits, a run and an RBI from Michael Harris, while Eddie Rosario managed two hits with an RBI. 

Yonny Chirinos will make the start for the Braves on Saturday. In his 19 games so far (eight starts) Chirinos is 5-5 with a 5.22 ERA and 49 Ks over 81.0 innings. Chirinos is 20-15 in his career with a 3.96 ERA overall.

I’ll probably try the Giants here. Webb is pitching well lately. He’s 1-0 in his last three with just four earned over 21.1 innings total. Conversely, Chirinos has been struggling lately with 15 earned runs in his last 14.2 innings. San Francisco should have plenty of offensive opportunities early if Chirinos can’t find his form. On Friday the Giants couldn’t solve Spencer Strider, who went 7.0 frames and struck out 10 batters. San Francisco has scored two or fewer runs in three of the last four games now, so they’re going to need to get it going at the plate. Because of that I’m probably staying away from this one, but Webb should keep things manageable at least.
