Fantasy Football 2015: Week 15 Start/Sit
Who to Start and Who to Sit in Fantasy Football Week 15
December 17, 2015
It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time for the Week 15 edition of our Start/Sit recommendations for your fantasy football lineups. We’ve got a fresh crop of borderline calls for you to peruse today, so let’s take a closer look at the numbers.
USA TODAY Sports
Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions: Stafford put up a pretty mediocre line against the Rams in the Week 14 loss, but should be able to get it going again in Week 15.
Stafford will face off against the Saints on Sunday, and New Orleans owns the league’s worst pass defense. If there’s any game to start him, it’s this one. Hopefully he’ll snag a few touchdown passes here.
Lamar Miller, RB, Miami Dolphins: It took us a while to come around on Miller, but he’s secured our confidence after a solid Week 14. He put up two touchdowns and 89 yards on the ground, even though he only got 12 carries.
Miller is one of the lone bright spots on the Dolphins’ offense, and it’s puzzling to consider how little he’s been used (it could be a minor injury). He does get a nice matchup against the Chargers this week, though, so hopefully things will work out.
DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans: Hopkins has been on the down-swing lately, seeing no more than nine targets in his last three games. He was basically shut down by the Patriots in Week 14, which may make owners a little leery about starting him.
All of that said, Hopkins gets a great matchup against the Colts in Week 15 and the team will likely force him the ball any way they can.
Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Roethlisberger is coming off a bad statistical game in Week 14 against the Bengals. He was 30-of-39 or 282 yards, but had no touchdowns and one interception.
Normally a no-doubt starter in the fantasy game, Roethlisberger gets a rough matchup this weekend against the Broncos. This one should be a heavily defensive battle, and we’re not expecting much from either quarterback.
Ronnie Hillman, RB, Denver Broncos: If you aren’t in a PPR league, Hillman was a real disappointment in Week 14. He posted crummy numbers against the Raiders, even with C.J. Anderson standing on the sideline the entire game.
Hillman gets a pretty bad matchup this week against the Steelers. Pittsburgh’s defense has been surging, and with Brock Osweiler now exposed as a middling QB, there won’t be much room to run.
Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers: Cobb hasn’t given fantasy owners a whole lot to work with lately. He was targeted 12 times against the Cowboys, securing eight of them. That said, he still only got 81 yards.
Cobb gets the Raiders this weekend, and though that might sound like a nice matchup, it’s not so great. Oakland has been shutting down wide receivers over the past month or so.
